TUTORIAL: HOW TO MAKE A WOMEN'S DAY CARD WITH MINIMAL SUPPLIES

Updated: Nov 18, 2020

Hi you all!

Today I’m sharing my first tutorial on how to create a very easy card.

It'll be great on the occasion of International Women's Day in March, but you can give it to your mum on Mother's Day or to any woman that inspires and motivates you.

The nice thing is that it requires very minimal supplies.

All you need is:

  1. Watercolor or Marker paper (I used the Canson XL watercolor paper)

  2. Two brush pens (I used two Tombow ATB dual brush pens, n° 757 and 772, from the Tombow Floral set)

  3. A set of stamps with letters

If you're not yet confident with calligraphy, you can print here the free practice sheet!

Start with cutting out the watercolor paper (19 cm x 15,5 cm - 7.5 in x 6 in) and fold it in half on the longest side.

Trace two parallel lines (2,5 cm apart - 1 in) and letter the word “Woman” with the darker brush, then create the shadows with the lighter one.

Use the stamps to add the other words and add the frame using the pencil as a guide.

Note that I used a Tombow water brush to blend the color in the principal word, but this step isn’t necessary at all.

I hope you enjoy this card!
